Father Lynch was appointed Rector of the Tor- onto institution in 1947, a post he held for nearly three years. in l950 Father Lynch was named President of St. Mary's University in Halifax. Under his rectorship the spacious and attractive new building of St. Mary's has been constructed. Recognized in university circles as an outstanding administrator and educator, Father Lynch is also well known for his generous hos- pitality.
