' * HE object of this competition was to find ‘out Twhich appealshtost strongly‘ to the great nlajority of people, “testimonial advertisements" or “human interest advertisements withillustrations and conver- sational style of copy." This contest brought out some very strong argu- ments on both sides and some which are entirely new. But, since the total result was 133 for testimonials and I35 for illustrated conversational advertisements, it looks as though we shall have to use both styles of advertising in order to interest all newspaper readers. Many women gave arguments for both styles of ad- vertising instead of expressing n definite preference. Most of these" letters were carefully thought out and will supply many new ideas as well as an abun- dance of evidence as to the strong regard in which Dr. Chase's Nerve Food is held by the women of Canada. if we could send these letters to every honlc there would no longer be any question as to‘ what treatment to buy when a restorative is needed for tired nerves and a run-down system. lt would be Dr. Chase's Nerve Food every time. lt was no easy task to, select the winners from the .. ll. of letters received, but we have tried our best to do justice to everyone. As it is our desire to make friends instead of losing them, we hope there are not many who lost patience as did the writer of a postcard we received, and which reads: ' ' Dear Sirr: lV/ty not publish names of tvitmrrs of your recent contest, a: you advertised "lranzcs of loin- mrrs will be published soon after close of ran- terf." It is almost a ntoutll. since contest rlarctl. What is the trouble? Don’! you ltappetl to have a friend or relative among tllc entries? From A Past Friend. Every contestant was advised by personal letter that the time of closing the contest had been extended to November 30th. So we hope there were not many disappointed as was our "Past Friend." Mn. H.
