Moncton, Aug. 29. The freight steamer William, of Charlotte- town, from Sydney to Miramichi, N B., with coal, put for shelter during the storm. Wheu she was coming out this morning she struck on Tormentine Reef and sprang a leak. She was headed for Point du Chene where she reached this afternoon and was beached to prevent her from sinking.
