There are 24 energetic lBrownies in the Pack and they ‘opened their party dancing merrily around the Toadstool in a Fairy Ring. A really terrific “Grand ‘l-Iowl" was given to Mrs. Jenkins the visitor. it must have been heard righi: down Richmond street. Candy was distributed throughout the ev- ening and it was so delicious that I am sure that it must have been Fairy candy. Mrs. Jenkins arranged an impromptu programme and all the Brownies joined in. The Pack together sang “Jemima" very mus- ically, and Brownie Celeste Mc- Quaid sang “Angels we have heard on high" Virginia MacDougail, “Cuckoo? Annette MacQuaid "Dear Did Santa. Claus and Ruth Birun “Brahms Lullaby". Mary McCabe l-nd Virginia told some amusing riddles that uic were not ail smart enough to solve. Brownie Cecily Soy gave a little dance and sang “Away in a Manger." Two Fairy Stories were related by Mrs. Jenkins and much enjoyed by all the Brownies. Presents were given out from under the lovely tree and a lunch of sandwiches, cookies and lots oi‘ ice creamnvas served by “Brown Owl. Mrs. Ashbury, Janet MacDonald Helen McInnis and ‘Loretta Kelly. The party closed with all the Brownies grouped around the tree singing Carols and then away heme they flew like all good fairies. t1’ hope that there were no ill Fairies and elvrs after all that candy and A. THE CHRISTI-PAN FLAG This white flag with its emblem a red cross, after the Greek pat- tern with all four arms of equal length, is the banner of the Prince of Peace. It stands for no creed or denomination and carries no symbol of warfare. '1‘he vviuie ground represents peace and pur- ity and the cross is the emblem of Christian sacrifice. its origin is traced to a fully Day service in i897 at the Suiiiiny School of Brighton Chapel, Coney Island, New York, when a speak- er had the idea of a flag for sun- day schools and churches which would have no geographical boun- daries but would remind all men of their allegiance to God. The first Christian flag W35 used in this little Sunday school. It has since then been used all around the world. Its design is not copyrighted and there is no commercial limitation to its manii— lecture and sale. This simple salute may be used: “I pledge allegiance to this iiag and to the saviour for whose kingdom it stands -— one broth- hood, uniting all mankind in ser- vice and love." TRUE OR. PAC-SE? l.
