It shall be the duty of the Prothonotary, or any Deputy Prothonotary for any County in. this Island, with whom ' any Bill of Sale shall have been registered,to mark the same satisfied on receiving authority to do so from the gran tee-or grantees of such Billof Sale. Provided that such authority, from the grantee or grantees of such Bill of Sale, be given under the hand of such grantee or grantees in the form (A) in the schedule to this Act annexed, signed and acknowledged before a Commissioner for taking affidavits in the Supreme Court for the County wherein such Bill of Sale is registered and certified by such Commissioner. For entering such satisfaction, the Prothonotary or Deputy Prothonotary shall be entitled to receive a fee of one shilling and six-pence and the Commis- sioner taking the acknowledgement of satisfac- tion, the sum of two shillings and six-pence. An Act to add to the Act relating to Weights and Measures, [Passed April 19, 1869.] HEREAS, it is advisable to permit per- sons buying or selling potatoes or tur- nips, to buy or sell the same by weight or measure, at the option of such parties ; but in case of dispute, the standard shall be as herein- after mentioned. ' I. Be it therefore enacted by the Adminis- bly, that from and after the passing of this Act, it shall and may be lawful for all persons buying and selling potatoes, turnips, parsnips, carrots or beets, to bring and settle the same by weight or measure, and that sixty- five pounds Avoirdupois weight, shall be held land considered as equal to one bushel heaped measure of potatoes, and sixty pounds Avoir- dupois weight, shall be held and considered as equal to one bushel heaped measure ofturnips, carrots or beets, and fifty-six pounds Avoirdu- pois weight, shall be equal to a heaped bushel of parsnips. II. That all Measurers and Weighers of grain and pulse, under the provisions of the Act, twenty-fifth Victoria, Chapter fourteen, shall also be Measnrers and \Veighers of potatoes and turnips, and that said Measurers and Weighers shall be paid at the same rate and in the same manner as for measuring and weighing grain and pulse. ' ‘ An Act to authorize the appointment .of an Assistant Judge of the Supreme Court of Judicature and Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery in this Island. [.I’nssed April 19, 1860.] I-IERFAS it is deemed expedient that an additional aSsistant Judge be ap- pointed to the Supreme Court of Judicature of this Island and also a Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery, which offices may be com- bined in one person : I. Be it therefore enacted by the Adminis- trator of the Government, Council and Assem- blys that {it shall and may be lawful for the Lieutenant Governor in Council, and he is hereby authorized and empowered, from and after the passing of this Act, to appoint, and, in case of a vacancy, to appoint anew, a fit and competent person to combine and fill the offices of Assistant Judge of the Supreme Court and Vice Chancellor in the Court of Chancery in this Island ; provided always that such person so appointed shall be a Barrister of at least seven years’ standing. II.
