Tomorrow morning at 9.3f o’clock» they are to hold 5 pubiir meofiillg in City' Hall, nt. which they will hear the views of local fisher- men intereated in shell fishing. Thr commissioners have already held ses- sions in Charlotte county. Professor Prince who is chairman of the com- mission. told the Globe that the idea of holding the sessions was to get first hand information on the con- ditions of shell fishing and also to test the feeling of the fishermen ion the laws at present regulating these fisheries. Hon. Mr. Mehean, of Prince Edward Ieiand, said that the meetings so far had been most suc- cessful. The fishermen had displayed keen interest in them and were not a blt backward in giving expreaslan to their views. In Charlotte County the general feeling among the fisher- men was that the lobster and oyster seasons ought to be extended. These they deemed would be in their best interests. Opinions to the coritrary were oxpressed in Prince Edward Is- land, however, the fishery packers thére considering that in the inter- ests of shell fishing the present open season should, -be shortened.
