In the practice of the American rifle team on Saturday afternuon, Mr. Hinman made nine bull's eyes and one four in ten conse- cutive shots over the 1,000-yard _ range, scoring a total of forty-nine po:nts out of a possible fifty. This is the highest score on record at that range. Mike Donovan, the pugilist, says that while he considers Mitchell a very good man he is ready to meet him in the ring for from $2,000 to $5,000 a side.
