Secretary, to grant a renewal of such license, so about to expire, and no such renewal shall be grant- ed; and notice that such certificate and affidavit have been so deposited, shall be given by the Colonial Secretary, or some other competent Gov- ernment officer, to the party holding the license,the renewal of which shall be objected to, by posting a letter containing such notice, in the Post Office in Charlottetown, addressed to the holder of the license, at within fourteen days after the depositing ofthe affidavit and certificate in the Secretary’s oflice, as hereinbefore mentioned. It shall not be necessary hereafter for a party applying for a tavern license, to obtain the signa- tures of two neighboring magistrates to the certifi- cate, attesting to his or her moral character, and to the necessity for the tavern, inn, or house of pub- lic accommodation, in question; but the same cer- tificate shall be sufficient, if signed by a majority of the householders, resident in, and entitled to vote for trustees of schools, for the schooldistrict wherein the proposed tavern, inn, or house of accommoda- tion shall be situate. III. No store or other license to retail spirituous liquors, in any quantities less than two gallons, shall be hereafter granted, without the previous consent in writing, of a majority of the inhabitants of the School District, in which the store or place where the liquor proposed to be sold is situate,being first obtained in writing, in addition to the certifi- cates heretofore required. IV.
