IN MEMORIAM ERNEST BIAGH BIRCH In the passing of Ernest Beagh Birch of Port Hill in his sixty- ninth year the community lost-one of its most respected residents. Since last spring Mr. Biroh' was not enjoying his usual good health, due to a heart condition which was not considered serious until he suffered a severe attack on September 1st. from which he rallied. His condition continued to improve until early in the morn- ing of September 19th, he suffer- ed another attack and within a few hours passed to higher ser- vice. The funeraiywas held from his late residence to st. .la.mcs' Church. Port Hill, of which he was a faith- ful and devoted member. and of which he was the senior warden. The service was conducted by the Reverend L. A. Dignan. Interment took place in the Church Cem- etery. The pail-bearers were: Henry Birch, Edmund Birch, Wil-iiam Maynard, Earl Dyment. Royden Dyment and Horace MacArthur. Mt. Birch is survived by his wife, three brothers and two sisters: Russell of Port Hill, Reginald of Northam: Percy of Birch Hill; Bertha (Mrs. Edward Dyment) of Msrgalc. and Florence (Mrs. Ed- ward MacArthur) of Tyne Valley. to whom the sympathy of a host of friends and neighbours is ex- tended.
