(Special to The Guardian) LONDON, May 31.-Heavy fighting on Gallipoli Peninsula. resulting in the rout of the attacking Turkish forces is announced in an oilicial statement given out here to-day. The casualties of the Turks are said to have amount- ed to at least 2,000. The British losses are given as 300. ATHENS, May 31.--Turkish losses in the Dardanelles fighting to date total more than 60,000, according to private advices reaching here from Constantinople. ATHENS, May 31.-Constantinople has been thrown into a panic by the presence of hostile submarines in the Sea of Marmora within plain view of the city. The British submarine E-11 attacked four Turkish transports, but a strong current caused the torpedoes to deviate and only a lighter was sunk. The annual meeting of the Prince Edward Island Hospital was held last evening in the parlour of the Y.M.C.A. The following Trustees were present: -Messrs Percy Pope (chairman), D. Schurman, W. K. Rogers, A.W. Stems, F. R. Heartz and Dr H. D. Johnson, aslo a large number of ladies and gentlemen. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and ap- proved. The Annual Report of the Trustees, the Treasurer's Report and the Report of the Ladies' Aid were severally read and adopted, as given below. A cordial vote of thanks to the Ladies' Aid for their valuable services was moved by Dr H. D. Johnson, seconded by Col. F. S. Moore, sup- ported by Mr Schurman, and unani- mously carried. The retiring Trustees, Mr Percy Pope and Dr H. D. Johnson, were unanimously re-elected. Mr H. J. Palmer suggested that the annual meeting be held at the same time as the graduating exercises of the nurses, end in a larger room. A cordial vote of thanks was given to the medical staff, including the Lady Superintendent, and kindly refer- ence was made to one of the staff, Dr S. R. Jenkins, who had gone to Halifax on military duty. A cordial vote of thanks to the auditors. Col. F. S. Moore and Mr _Donald McKinnon, was moved by Mr Sterns. seconded by Mr Heartz, and unanimously carried. They were re- appointed for the ensuing year. The chairman stated that it was the intention to put up a bronze tablet with the name of Hon. F. Ratchford Starr, whose legacy had enabled the Trustees to provide the great improve- ments that had been added to the Hospital. Kindly reference was also made to Mr H. J. Cundall, who was an honor- ary member of the Board, and who had taken such a great interest and so materially helped the Institution dur- _lug its early years. At the close of the annual meeting a meeting of the Trustees was held. when Mr Percy Pope was re-elected chairman, Mr B. Balderston re-elected secretary-treasurer. TRUSTEES REPORT. The receipts for tho year were as follows:-Subscriptions and donations, $1.3l0.19; Legislative grant, $500; rent of land (2 years), $126; interest (including income) from Starr estate, $2,385.83; church collections, $66.38; patients’ fees, $9,102.95; nurse fees, $92.29, which, with the balance of $1,373.24 on hand at the beginning of the year, make a total of $14,056.88. The expenditure on current account shows a considerable increase over previous years, being $15,220.13. The increases were principally in salaries and provisions.
