Somehow these things seemed harder than ever to bear alone. When Roddy left that. hollow he began at once. He was hungry. He was very hungry. These were hard times. Food was so scarce. so hard to find. that it; was several days since he had had enough at one time. It seemed to him that never before had he been so llun- gry ior so long. Now he hunted with eyes and ears and nose as only a smart Fox can hunt. For a long time he had not luck. Then lie caught a Mouse. He picked it. up to eat. He put it down. He looked back the way he had come. Then he picked the Mouse up again. Turning, he trotted back toward that bushey hollow.
