early yesterday morning on Kent Street
west by thc raiding of a house by a
number of the police cflicers. When the
afiicers forced their wiry into the house
all was in darkness, but the sounds of
revelry heard a few minutes before in-
oioated that there were a number of
occupants in the building. Lanterns were
procured and the door again forced in.
About a dozen young men were found in
various parte ofthe house and driven out
by the police. In the yard to the rear one
secured an axe with which he threatened
to do some damage but he was disarmeu
by an officer. in the melee glasses,
bottles, etc. were flying around the
heads cf the police.
