Sudden Death Of Alberton So. Man The death of Mr. Herbert Avery occurred early Saturday evening at his home in Alherton South. within a few days he would have attained the age of sixty years. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Avery. he has lived all his life in Alberton South where he engaged in the fishing indus- try. He will be missed not only by his family but by many friends and neighbours who knew him ssi a good and kind man. At the time of his death he was secretary-treasurer of Alberton loath school district. In use he was married to Rosel- la Arseaault of Howlan who sur- vives him. Indians Mark St. Ann's Day Lennox Island, the Mic Mac Indian reservation some 25 miles west of Summerside, was visited by several thousand persons yes- terday as the Indians observed ”St. Ann's Sunday", an annual event dedicated to their patron saint. Travelling across the mile wide waters separating Lennox Island from Prince Edward Island. visit- ors were trausported to and from the Indian reservation by a fleet of fishing boats which operated continuously throughout the day. Several hundred persons arriv- ed before it a.m. to attend an out- door observance of Solemn High Mass featuring an Indian choir. The crowds continued to in- creased steadily until late after- noon. A great many families carried their own lunches, but the can- teens were busy at all times. and a chicken barbeque pit pro- vided some 600 dinners for visit- other exercises at the Alberton on A light sea breeze combined with warm sunny skies to provide ideal weather for the day, and persons were observed from points in all parts of Prince Edward Is- land, and from several in Cen- tral Canads and the U.S.A.
