Anything that affects the general nutri- tion of the body will injuriously affect the nervous system. So long as the digestive organs are not in a healthy condition, the process of building up of tissue and removing from the wasted tissues cannot go on as it should go ensure health. Whoever, therefore, is suffering from nervous debility must first of all do some- thing that will restore the digestive organs to their normal condition. The great merit of Hawker’s nerve and stomach tonic is that it brings about this important change, and restores healthy action wo the digestive organs. It cleanses, stimulates, and strengthens. Its effect upon the pervous system is very marked. The person taking @ course of this remedy according to direc- tions aad with due regard to regular habits will regain lost gppetite, food will be digested without distress, restful sleep will be enjoyed, the nerves invigorated, and health fully restored. These are not idle words. The happy experience of thousands is behind them. Be advised, herefore, and if your system is out of order secure a supply of Hawker’s nerve and stomach tonic. It is sold by all druggists and deal- ers at 50 cents per bottle or six bottles for $2.50, and is manufactured by the Hawker Medicine Co., (Ltd.) St. John, N.B., and New York City. THE PEACE GOP FUROPE THREATEN- EBD. A Jate despatch to the London Standard from Constantincple says: It is reported that yesterday’e council decided to mobi— lize all the reserves along the whole sea- board of the empire and in all the Euro- pean villages. This measure, entailing great financial sacrifices, is only explained by the acute sense of the critical situation of affairs in several different spots. A Vienna despatch tothe same news— paper says: “The Macedonia insurgents defeated the Turkish troops on Wednesday and thursday at Perdah. The victors numbering 1,560, now intend te fight their way to Strumhitza and to destroy the railway in the Vardar valley to prevent the advance of reinforcements of troops. There is no doubt that the Macedonia movement is now so serious that it de- serves the attention of all interested in the peace of Europe.” The Daily News has a despatch from Vienna in which its correspondent says that he is informed that the cabinets of Vienna, Berlin and Rome will perfect an intente with regard to Macedonia. The Reason Why the Heart Flatters, Pal- itutes, and is Oppressed, and How toe Relteve it. The heart hasa hard old time of it and within itself does not excite much dis- ease, but it is very often called upon to dis- play the troubling symptoms of palpita- tion, fluttering, labored breathing, op- ression, etc., on account of diseased <idneys offering increased resistance to the passage of the blood through their defective secretive structures, causing a morbid change in the blood unsuited to nourish the tissues and noxious to them, The minute arteries resist the passage of this foul blood, resulting in the muscular walls of the arteries and the ventricle of the heart becoming partially paralyzed, and from this cause results much of the so-called heart disease, which is owing to wasting Kidneys not being able tc per- form their functions.
