We broke up camp at Vslcartler about two weeks ago. We left Halifax for England Sunday morning the 18th on the Empress of Britain. We were nine days on the water and landed in Liverpool Tues- day mogning the 25th. it was great sailing weather up till Saturday, when ,lt got very foggy and dangerous. We ines. but we had too much sreed for them,-and they could not catch us_ i was on watch that night. I was on four days arid saw the submarine. We had four submarine destroyers escort- ing us from Saturday till we landed safely. It was 9. long, tiresome trip. But this isa handsome country, and the farms here are jus] like gardens.
