Wednesday Wing Night Free Prizes and Surprises “’ UPEI Host Family Program This year at UPEI a unique opportunity exists for interna- tional students. The UPEI Christian Fellow- ship group along with the In- ternational Student Advisor and Student Services, is sponsoring a program whereby students fom other countries studying at UPEI can be matched up with a PEI family in order to experience Canadian customs and, moe im- portantly, friendship. Being a foreign student in Canada is not always ezsy, and many foreign students hee ua- dergo “Cultue shock” or periods of loneliness being away fom rela- tives and friends. The completely new surroundings, language dif- ficulties, and strange social cus- toms can make life in Canada very intimidating. Through this pogram we ‘would like to put international students in tourch with some _ Canadian families who are inter- ested in opening their hoems to you. It will involve going to the family’s home, perhaps once a month, for a meal, to go to some event, or just to spend a quiet evening away from the craziness of university life. This is a great way for internationals to see how Canadians live and for them to learn more about you and your country. Even more importantly it is a chance for friendship. If you are an iternational stu- dent, whether new to Canada this year or in your last year of univer- sity here, and would be interested in taking part in this program you can leave your name with Student Services located in the library, or phone Anne Irving at 566-4085. ~ Engineers are Back!
