irst. natural area acquisition in 11982, 1,112 acres of land have been cquired for natural areas conservation on Prince Edward Island. The Natural History Society is supporting the Trust’s new fund raising effort by fielding a team of birders to assist in the Island Nature Trust’s First Autumn Birding Classic Birdathon. We would greatly appreciate any pledges that you would be willing to make for our team’s effort. These funds will be used for the natural areas conservation program. This project will not only raise funds for the Island Nature Trust(s natural area conservation programs, it will enhance our knowledge of bird occurrence for future revisions of the Field Checklist of Birds. The results will be published in the next Island Naturalist and hence, they will become part of the permanent record of bird sightings for the province. If you could help us, please complete the attached pledge/donation sheet and return it to Barb McDonald at the Island Nature Trust, P.O. Box 265, Charlottetown, P.E.I. C1A 7K4.
