June 27th. in the form of a fare- well party for pupils and teacher. The pupils were treated generous- ly to ice-cream, while the teacher was presented with a beautiful lamp and figurine, besides some lovely individual gifts. A letter of appreciation was received by the teacher from the school hoard expressing thanks and comme!fd- ing her on the praiseworthy way in which she had conducted her duties as teacher here. June 29th. One was Mr. Heher ll. Hardy oi the West Cape pastoral charge of the Un- itcd Church who has given splen- did service since last fall serving the congregations of Bethel. Glenwood and Cape Wolfe. Mr. ilrirdy, who is a lay minister and President of the P. E. I. Lay As- sociation of the United Church will be stationed at the Winsloe, P. E. I. charge and will preach his first sermon on his new charge on July sixth. The other minister is the Rev. Harry Baxter of Bideford pas- toral chargc who has given splen- did service since l948. He will be stationed at the Hampton. P. E. I. pastoral charge and will begin his ministry on July sixth. Both of these ministers will be greatly missed on their charges and their many friends unite in wishing them every success in their new fields of service. Succeeding Mr. Hardy at the West Cape charge is the Rev. W. H. Forsythe, B.A., of Jerusalem. N.B.. and Rev. A. J. MacDonald of Boicstown. N. B., one of the members of this year's graduating class at Pine Hill College in Halifax will succeed Rev. Mr. Baxter. The Induction service for Rev. England-(GP) Reports to a foodtcontrol commit- tee in this Norfolk town said one restaurant manager was making as many as 70 cups from one-half pound oi tea. The committee is considering setting a maximum of 50 cups. Outsize Lohiter caught In Maipeque --A huge lobster weighing 7 1x2 pounds was part of the catch landed last Wednesday by Mr. Richard Wall, of New Annan. This huge lobster, believed to have been the largest ever land- ed in this area was caught by Mr. Wail. fishing out oi Prince- town in Malpeque Harbor. It was taken to the store of Mr. Harold Mouse, merchant at New Annan, where some vital statis- tics concerning this lobster were determined. It was found to weigh 7 U2 pounds. and to be 27 inches long with claws, 19 inches from tail to nose, and measured 14 inches around the body. Mr. Wall said it had caught in Clawhammer In Malpenue Bay; and said he intended to have the meat ex- tracted and preserve the shell. When the process is completed this unusual lobster may. for a time be placed on exhibit in some Summerside store to prove that not all the big ones get sway.-S. Clark-Macileill Wedding been Channel A quiet but pretty wedding took place in the Trinity United Church, Summerside. on Thursday. June 19th at 3.30 o'clock when Mildred Blanch. daughter of Mr. James G. and the late Mrs. MacNelil of South West Lot 16, and Earl W. Clark, son oi Mr. and Mrs. A. Wyman Clark of Malpeque, took place. Rev. C. D. Matheson officiated at the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father. the bride was attended by Miss Shirley Simpson while Mr. Lloyd Ramsay oi Hamilton acted as best man. in a gown of pale blue organdle over satin with matching hat. and she carried a corsage of Better Time roses. The bridesmaid was similarly attired in malse with a. corsage oi roses. Mr and Mrs. Clark left by auto on a. short honeymoon trip through Nova Scotla. On their return a reception was held at the home of the groom's parents. They will reside in Malpeque. An epidemic of flu has broken out in Freetown causing many to be confined to their homes through illness. Also on the sick list are Messrs Cecil Reeves and Ralph R. Bums both suffering from at- tacks of virus pneumonia. Their many friends hope to see them around again very soon. On Thursday. June 18th, when a very high wind was blowing. the chimney of Mr. Robert B. Burns house in Lower Freetown caught fire and caused considerable alarm and a crowd soon gathered to ren- der assistance if needed. At one time sparks from the blazing chimney set fire to the roof. But with the aid of fire extinguishers the flames were brought under control. The fire occured at noon. and neighbors remained on the alert till midnight. when in Sackville recently, Mr. lre appointed caretaker of school. and Mrs. Robert C.
