There was a full gathering of the students, and an exceedingly interesting programme was carried out. Proflessor Starratt, of the fa- culty, presided, and on the platform were the Premier, Hon. J. A. Ma- thieson, Lieutenant Governor Rogersf Hon. Murdoch `McKinnon, Commis- sioner oi Agriculture, Mr. R, H, Unmpbell, Superintendent of Educa- tion, Professor Theodore Ross and others. The first item was a well-played pianofortc duet by the Misses Bar- naby. Governor Rogers then addressed the teachers. He said that he felt he ought to have attended some of the valuable lectures which had been given but that he had follnd it in- convenient to do so. He was glad to he there that night, however, to con- gratulate them on the splendid re- sults which the present aumn-rar ses- sion had Witnieesed. He thought that this enterprise must have a very he-'S neficial effect and be of help to the teachers, broadening their views of things. He must congratulate the in- structors for the work they had`done and the teachers who had taken the opportunity of better fitting theln-. selves for the great and glorlousl work of instrllcting the youth. Upon the young people; of to~day, he said, 3 rested the responsibilities and duties, of life in all its departments twenty h made.
