The National Anthem closed a very pleasant evening. The people of DeBable take great pride in their school and grounds, and rightly so, as the school-house is large, well lighted and well finished inside, and called forth much favorable com- ment on the evening of the entertain- ment. while the grounds are second to none in the Province, as regards size and 1ocation,_ and with ii little expense could he made to look very beautiful indeed. The committee in charge are heart- ily thankful to all those who by their attendance, donation of pies and purchase of pies helped to make the social such a grand success, par- ticularly those who came from New Haven-a long driv&and helped ma- terially to swell the receipts. The handsome sum of $43.75 was realiz- ed. The people of this settlement are to be congratulated on the success of the entertainment, both socially and financially.
