Governor. ‘ IIEREAS a certain Treaty was made between Her Majesty and the United States of America, on the 5th day ofJune, 1854, providing for Reciprocal Trade: And whereas the United States of America have, in accordance with the terms of the said Treaty, giVen notice for the termination thereof. And whereas in consequence of such notic‘e the said Treaty will expire on the Seventeenth day of March, 1866. And whereas under the said Treaty many perSnns, citizens of the United States of America, have invested moneys and fitted out Ships for the purpose of carrying on the (in-shore) Fisheries with- in the Territory ol' Prince Edward Island, under the said Treaty. And whereas they may be unaware that their right to carry on such in-shore Fisheries will end on the said 17th day of March, instant. And whereas it is desirable that due precaution be taken to pre- vent injury or loss to any of Her Majesty’s subjects, or to the citi- zens ot' a State with which ller Majesty, the Queen of Great Britain, is happily in amity.
