W. D. Reid, pastor of Stanley Presbyterian' Church, Montreal, delivered an inspir- ing and interestir" lecture on the great war now raging Ii Europe. Rev. Roland Davidson presi.`cd and after some brief remarks called on Mrs. Reid, who gave a humorous recitation entitled Me and Jim. Rev. Mr. Reid was then introduced and for more than an hour he held the closest attention of the audience as he in an eloquent and forceful manner told of the things which led up to the war, of the actions of the Germans with tlie Belgians and oi’ the way in which they had en- deavored to carry out their well pre- pared plans. all of which had how- ever failed.
