-The Empress arrived in Summer-
side at 8.05 Saturday night. She
had 200 passengers from Sumlnerside
in the morning and 50 returning in
the evening. 1-ler outward cargo con-
sisted of 25 head of cattle and 1 car

-H. C. and Mrs. Simpson were ag-
greegbly surprised last Monday even-
ing when a number of young folks
of Malpeque called on them. Among
them might be mentioned Geo. Green,
who is a guest at the Manse. and the.
employees of P. McNutt & Son, and
several others. The principle feature
of the evening was music and song.
The hostess rendered some fine selec-
tions. Mr. Green recited in his talent-
ed manner__for which he has a reputa-
tion. Games were also, indulged in.
The inner man was given satisfaction
too by Mrs. Simpson serving lunch
and she and the groom are
in good style, At a late hour the
fricnds_ departed much pleased with
their outing. ,
-The marriage of Miss Laura M.
Bernard, daughter of Kier and Mrs.
Bernard 'of Park Corner, and John
E. Campbell, son of Hugh and Mrs.
Campbell of 'Sea View, was solemniz-
eil at the residence of tht bride's pa-
rents on Wednesday evening, Aug.
14th, at seven o'clock, and was wit-
nessed by s. large company of rela-
tives and neighbors. The bride looked
charming in a fancy worsted gown of
a. beautiful slate color, with trim-
mings of slate colored satin, spang-
led nct over white satin. She carried
n beautiful bridal bouquet and was
given in marriage by her father. The
happy couple were attendgd by Heath
McLeod of Irishtown an Miss Elva
Bernard, sister of -the bride, who
wore `a brown venetian cloth gown,
viith trimmings of brown silk and
white ruchings. Mrs. James A. Camp-
bell of Burlington played the wedding
marches, and Rev. G. A. Sutherland
of Kensington, was the ofliciating
clergyman. Immediately after the
ceremony, a reception was held when
the rivany guests present extended
their best wishes to the bride and
groom. The wedding repast was ex-
cellent in every way. The charivari
party, composed of young people of
the vicinity, assembled and contribut-
~ed thlzir part to the evening’s pleas-
ure. The wedding presents were nu-
merous and costly, among which
might be specially mentioned 3 beau-
tiful gold watch and chain from the
father of the bride. The bride and
groom are very popular, and have the
best wishes of a host of friends at
home and abroad. `

Few people in Charlottetown have
suffered more than Mr. Thomas 'Mc-
Mahon. The following account which'
he givesof his recovery will therefore
be read with interest by the public:-
Dear sir,- It gives me great pleas-
ure to state what the Oxypathor has
done for me. For over tive years I
was badly aliiicted with rheumatism,
suuering excruciating painevery night
hardly ever knowing what it was to
have 5, night'a rest. I was also a
victim oi anemia and other disorders.
I was almost reduced to a skeleton,
could scarcely lift myself without as-
sistance, and at times had not streng-
th enough to walk. upstairs. I was
confined to my bed for months at a
time; no sleep to speak of and no ap-
petite. Had spent abnut e. thousand
dollars in other treatment, but until
I got the Oxypathor I was little h9-
neiitted. The Oxypathor certainly prov
ed a God-send to n1e,I began its use
on the Zlst of last March and used it
ten nights in succession with five oil
for the first two months. F‘rom the
first night I experienced great relief
from pains and I enjoyed refreshing
Sleep-I quickly gained strength, my
appetite returned and I have continu-
ed to enjoy my meals all along.
I have come to the conclusion that
my case was hopeless, and had' I not
known the Oxyputhor agent personally
I do not believe I would have had con
fidence enough to try it. I have used
that it has proved all that is claimed
for it. I would not he without it at
any price if I could not get another,’
If I continue to gain in strength as
I have all along I will soon be able
to resume my former work as 5 sea-
man
I heartly commend the Oxypathor
to all sufferers.
