treacherous ice from the Toledo har-
bor lighthouse, where for seven days
he had been _imprisoned with thc
dead body of Capt. Delos Hayden,
Joseph reached this city _yesterday
afternoon. '
He brought the news of the death
to friends rind relatives, telling of
the nerve racking vigil beside the
dying mari in the lighthouse, and
his still more trying. experience
while watching over the' dead body,
waiting lor a tum in the weather
which would permit his escape over
the ice. . '
