away by her father, entered the par-

march, played by Mrs. Vernon Wood.

broidered white crepe volle, with trim-
imings of white silk, and wore a gold
necklace with settings of emeralds
and pearls, gift of the groom, and car-
ried a lovely bouqueb of white chry-
santhemums. Miss Emma Lane, cou-
sin of the bride, acted as flower girl
and looked sweet dressed in white,
with pink ribbons. The groom's gift
to her was a gold chain with pendant.
When the ceremony was concluded
and the bride and groom had recei _ed
the ordinary congratulations, 'Ih”e`
guests repaired to the dining room,
where they were served to a delight-
ful and sumptuous supper, served by
six girl friends of the bride, after
which music, speeches and friendly
chat passed away the hours. The
presents were numerous and costly,
testifying to the'popularity of both,
among them being a beautiful bedroom
suite from the bride‘s parents; also 'a
cheque for $25 from the bride‘s uncle,
Mr. Wesley Lane, who accompanied
by his wife and family and sister, Miss
Edith Lane, arrived home from Pen-
zance, Sask., on time to attend the
wedding. Gold pieces were also re-
,celved from her uncles. Mr. K. M.
;Jenklns, Sydney; Mr. P. M. Jenkins
and Mr. J. S. Jenkinsyof New Glas-
god, N. S. The bride was also very
of the Choir of Pownal Methodist
Church, of which she was an honored
member who will be greatly missed.

A WELCOME ALMANAC. - Bel-
cher’s Farmers’ Almanac for 1916, is-
sued by Royal Print & Litho., Ltd.,
Halifax. Canada, is here again with
its usual wealth of information. It
contains the important items of the
calendar and the live eclipses of the
year-the fullest information of tidal
movements at various points in the
Maritime Provinces, and the latest ad-
ditions and changes pertaining to the
lighthouse service along the different
coast lines. The fact that the publica-
tion has been issued continuously for
93 years should be proof of its useful-
ness.

triotic Society of I-lamptoii organized
about four weeks ago to aid in Red
Cross work is meeting with much suc-
