trade of the province. Perhaps in this
connection it would be well to mention
the one which shows mountain scenery
and which is considered by those who
have had the pleasure of looking at it as
one of the most beautiful pieces of marble
ever imported to this province. In
going through the works the writer was
shown a large quantity of building mat-
erial and upon enquiry learned that it is
the intention of Mr. Purdy to erect a new
building which will give sufficient space
for the proper extention of all
departments, especially the show rooms.

an entertainment in the Public hall, on
Wednesday evening which, despite the.
bad travelling was quite well attended.
The affair passed off well and was much
appreciated by the audience. The Rev

readings and recitations interspersed
with vocal and instrumental music.

The Methodist Mission Band on Friday
evening of last week gave an enjoyable
entertainment which was highly appre~
ciated by all who attended. Nearly ten
collars were realized. The choir of the
church furnished excellent selections of
sacred song and the young folks recited
finely. R-fi-eshments were furnished at
the close.-Elwin Deacon, and Archie
Vessey left (Thursday) for the North
West.
