Mrs. Josephine R. Nichols, who had charge of the Woman's Christian Temper- anee union exhibit and headquarters at the Paris exposition and also at the World’s fair, has just died at her home in Indian- apolis, She was a strong woman, and a great help tothe organization to which she had given all her time. Mrs. Josephine Shaw Lowell is one of the pioneers in prison reform work. As an expert in household eccnomics she has been an educator of the women of her age and country, and as member of the New York board of charities she has been influ- ential for reform, stimulating other work- ers, each in her special task.
