Page 8 October 2008 SPORTS UPEI Cadre Panther Named AUS and Past Athletes honoured Sept. 25 CIS Athlete of the week | A Panther soccer star was recently named the Atlantic University Sport and the Canadian University Sport Athlete of the Week.. Paul Craig, of the UPEI Panthers men’s soccer team, was given the honour for the week ending Sept. 14, 2008. Craig was given the hon- our after an impressive four goals in two Panther victo- ries, giving him a total of five goals so far in this 2008 season. Those stats puts him in the top spot for the Atlantic Conference and second in CIS. With his help, the Panthers currently stand in third place with three wins, no losses and a tie. University inducts past athletes into the UPEI Sport Hall of Fame UPEI honoured past excel- lence in school atheltics as it added four inductees into the UPEI Sport Hall of Fame Sept. 25. The inductees come from past atheletes of. St. Dunstan’s University, Prince of Wales College and the University of Prince Edward Island. The Inductees included: Dr. William “Bill” Stanish who, during the 1961-62 and 1962-63 seasons played bas- ketball, hockey and football Richard “Dick” Tingley, who played hockey for St. Dunstan’s University from the AUAA Championship. 1960 to 1964 Long-time physiotherepist The 1985-86 UPEI men’s Janet Rogers was also hon- basketball team, who won _ oured as a UPEI builder. eT
