MMEACIIERN The death occurred at the Pro- vincisl Sanatorlum. Charlotte- toyvn on October 15th. 1951 of Daniel Charles Mac!-Iachern in his 31st year. Born on the home- stead at Cardigan he was the cldcr son of George Mac!-Jachcrn and the late Mrs. Annie Warry MscEachern. Dannie as he was familiarly known was at his work as usual until four weeks prev- ious to his death. The serious- ness of his illness was not appar- ent until he was taken to the King's County Memorial Hospital at Montague on October 4th. There he was carefully observed by the attending physicians and tenderly cared for by special nurses until it was discovered he had developed tubcrcular menin- gitis. He was moved in a semi- consclous condition by ambulance to the Provincial Sanatorium and despite all the medical assistance available passed away to his eter- nal rcst on the above mentioned date. r He had been employed as a. mechanic at Daniel Acorn's Com- munity Garage at Cardigan for the past: several years where his services will be greatly missed by the large circle of friends and customers in the surrounding districts to whom he was ever willing to render assistance to the best of his ability. He was deeply interested in his work and had great patience and perserver- ance in difficult tasks. Having possessed a very quiet disposition, was not outspoken concerning his thoughts but nevertheless gravely concerned over the welfare of his family. Being a devoted husband, a kind and loving father to his small children his absence in the home will be sorely felt. Besides his sorrowing father he leaves to mourn his wife, the former Sandra Ferguson of Lorne Valley. two children Katherine 5 and Bobby 3, also a sister Mar- garet, Mrs. Alfred Birt, Everett, Mass., and a brother Arthur of Cardigan. The funeral service which was largely attended was conducted at the home on October 18th by Rev. F. N. Young. Montague, who brought a vcry comforting mess- age to the bereaved family.
