MAUBICI WHITI The death occurred at the City Hospital Charlottetown in the early morning hours of Sept. 19, 1953 of Mrs. Maurice White nee- Cathsrino Feehan in her 83rd year. For some time she had not been enjoying good health and in May 1952, she underwentamalor opera- tion. From this, she recovered tempor- arily and was able to-enjoy her family and friends. so much so that she spent the greater part of the winter of 1953. visiting with her daughters in Virginia. She ro- turned in the early spring accom- panied by her daughtor Patsy, who gave up her position and lovingly and tenderly cared for her mother until about a week previous to her death. when it was deemed advis- able that she enter the Hospital, where on the above named date. and fortified by the rites of the Roman Catholic Church, her soul took its flight to meet her Maker. Although suffering from. and having the knowledge that she had a malignant disease, her interest and thoughts were ever of her family and friends. She was al- ways happy and glad to receive visitors and invariably. in the most assuring manner. talked of the Great Beyond and the Joys await- in her, frequently mentioned how she would have the privilege of sharing eternal joy sooner than those with whom she was convers- ing. To visit her was a joy and in- splration. When in good health her door was always open to the poor and needy. and many a weary soul found rest and consolation in her home. i She will be missed by a host of friends, but most of all in the home. She leaves to mourn her husband and six daughters viz - (Margaret), Mrs. Rolland Alchorn. Rocky Point; (Olga) Mrs. Trevor Davies and (Reta) Mrs. James Atkinson. Charlottetown; (Cath- erine) Mrs. Philip Hogan. Toronto and (Eileen) Mrs. Ernest Hartune and Patsy, Virginia. also a sister, Mrs. George Cowgill and a brother, William Feehan of Iowell. Mass. The funeral which was largely attended by relatives. friends and neighbours was held on Monday morning. Sept. 21, 1953. from her home at Rocky Point to St. Martin's Church. South Shore where solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated by Rev. Father Enright assisted by Rev. Father Murphy as deacon and Rev. Father Coyne sub-deacon. The burial took place in the family plot where all that was mortal of a. devoted wife. mother, and friend was laid to rest there to await a glorious resurrection.
