A young mau—a charming Adonis —took passage at Port Hill for Bay Fortane. His mission thither was one of rave importance ; one in which he sheuld net frustrated. His object was to join the army of St. Benedict. ‘Iherefore he was fall to overflowing with Cupid. His thoughts were on future blessedness—nothing else. In his possession for a short time in the coach was his valise, which contained his wedding suit, ring, and the necessary equipments for a bridegroom. At Summerside a number of rsons from French River, New Lendon, rded the train, One of these had a valise similar to that owned by the Benedictine candidate. The vyalises, in an unwary manner got mixed, but this did not cause any alarm until nearing Blueshank when it was discovered that a farmer on leaving the train at Kensington had taken the wroog satchel. What a pitiful state of affairs? The bride almost at the altar in Bay Fortune, the bridegroom in New Lendon searching for his wedding garments. Enough to turn the strongest mind. He arose, paced the coach, using strong appellations, staring wildly at the passen zers, and pori‘ively declining con- solation from all whe tendered it to him. The Commissioner of Public Wo ks was on board. He offered to furnish the hapless young man with an outfit in ‘‘ Robertson's” best and m«st stylish. It was not equal to John McKenzic’s ‘‘Champion” and was promptiy declined. The brave commissioner then left the train, secured a horse, drove to New London, eclipsed Archibald Forbes’ great ride, and arrived in Charlottetown yesterday morning with the missing valise in time for the bride- groom to continue his foutney to Bay Fortuae, where he will to-day complete his mission ard return to Port Hill with one of the feir THE DATDY Hx VALUABLE Household Furniture, HORSE, GOW, CARRIAGES, Sleighs, Robes, Yacht, Boats, Canoe, &. a | i WILL sell AT AUCTION, at the late i i residence of J.
