been appointed bythe Dominion Govern-
ment to take charge of the Chicken Fut-
tening Staticn which will be opened at
Summerside next week- The chickens
are to be kept in specially constructed
coops which are now being built bythe
Mechanics’ Mf’g. Co. ln these they
will be fed about one month, after
which they will be killed dressed and
packed, then shipped via Charloite-
tawn, in cold storage forthe European
markets; For the first shipment Mr.
Read will buyabout 200 chickensgivera-
ging from two to three lbs. each for
which he will pay from 30 to 40 gems
per pair. Any farmers interested in
this new industry who have chickens to
dispose of will call on Mr. Read -as
early as possible. l
