Second Phase Of S'side Paving Program Finished J The second phue of summer- side'e street paving program was completed last evening. This year about a mile and three-quarters of streets were hard surfaced with cement and this follows about two miles done last year. This leaves Summer ide with very few unpaved streets and the use of cement on the newly paved ones guarantees that the Job on these. at least, will be permanent The contractors both this year and last were Morrison and MacRae Ltd. Streets that were done this year are as follows: D.ike irom' Notre Dame to Water; the balance of Notre Dame to the intersection with Water; Market from Cediii to Duke; North Market from Cedar to Duke; East Street from Water to Harvard; Granville Street North to Victoria Road; Beatty Avenue from Granville to Summer; Cen- tral Btreet North; Chestnut Ave- nue and Maple Avenue from Gen- tral to Duke. The paving of four miles ap- proximately of streets in two years makes a great change in the ap- pearance of the town and means it great deal in convenience to the reople who live on the streets on which permanent work was done - 8.
