The December meeting oi.’ Emerald, Women's Institute was held at the heme o! Mrs. Emmett Glow, iifteen members and one visitor were in attendance. Meeting opened by reciting the Institute Creed. The school and sci: committees» were re-appointed. It was moved byMrs. Austin Murphy and seconded by Mrs. Emmett Clow that the Institute purchase T. B. Christmas Seals, Moved by Mrs. Joseph Hughes. and seconded by Mrs. Peter Clark that all out- standing bills be paid. The members agreed to purchase a treat of apples for the school children at Christ- mas. . It was the desire or the members that a vote of thanks be extended to Mr. Fenton Mayne, Mr. G. C. iGrcen and thcse who helped to ‘make our pantry sale a success. It was suggested that our president obtain material for making quilts. A contest "A Farmers nova Letters." was sponsored by Mrs. Alfred Sinnott, which was much enjoyed by all. A very interesting demon- stration and explanation on “First Aid" was rendered by Mrs. Peter Clark, R. N. and much appreciated by the mombdrs, all expressed s desire to have Mrs. Clark continue the demonstrations at our next meeting. Mrs. Joseph Hughes invited the members to her home tor the January meeting. Roll call to be answered by a donation for the auction sale, to be held at the January meeting. Mr. Baker then called on the guest speaker, Rev. Lewis Murray to address the meeting. The sub- ject of MrnMuri-ays address was "Citizenship" and the Rev. Speak- er treated it in a. comprehensive and interesting manner._ He began by referring to the value placed on Citlceznshlp in the days o! &.
