A vote of thanks to the col- lectors was moved by Mrs. A. C. Green seconded by Miss Annie Lgard and carried unanimously. The president appointed a nom- mating committee comprised of Mrs, A. C. Green. Mr- Wheelock stated that there are a thousand lansu-sen into which no portion or the scriptures have yet been trans. lated. The task of the Bible society is the translation and circulation of the scriptures. For the blind the Bible is printed in Braille and also produced on records so that those who do not know Braille can hear the scriptures read. New Testaments are supplied to men of the armed forces and for immigrants there is published an edition with parallel columns. one in his native tongue and one in "ngllsb. A very fine film "The Liv- ing Word" depicted in an interest- ing and memorable way some of the great work of the Brltsh and Foreign Bible Society. The bene- diction was pronounced by Rev. O'Leciry Resident Dies Suddenly Mrs. Oswald Haywood. age 54, passed away very suddenly Satur- day cvening at his home in O'Leary. Born at Howlan. he lived for a time in the United States before mov- ing to 0'Leary where he has re- sided for the past sixteen years. He is survived by one daughter Jean. in Rhode Island. Mrs. Keir Campbell of Alberton. is a sister. The funeral will be held from his home to the O'Leary United Church on Wednesday for service at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Getson gave her report and said that we should all work together and that not only members but everyone should help when we are having entertainments for making money as we are work- ing for the school.
