Lorne Bonnell. Provin- cial Minister of Health announced last night that the Tuberculin Testing and X-ray Survey to be held in Charlottetown this winter will open in the Brighton area today. Tubercnlin testing clinics will be held today and Friday at the Provincial Sanatorium and on Monday and Tuesday the tests will be read and X-rays taken. The survey. a co-operative effort between the Provincial Depart- ment of Health and the Prince E d w I r d Island Tuberculosis League has the full approval of the City Council and will be in operation in Charlottetown ior Ieveral months. Dr. Bonneil went on to say that already lady volunteers from the Brighton area have carried on I house to house canvass of all homes west of Ambrose Street. "These ladies are to be commend- ed." the Minister said. ”for the fine co-operation and effort they have shown in this very worth- while program." FURTHER PROGRAM Explaining the operation of the program further. Dr. Bounell pointed out that Charlottetown has been divided up into eight sections. The X-ray- machine will move from section to section so that people will not have far to walk. After Brighton, the survey will move to the area north of Eus- ton. with Ambrose Street. the city limits and Elm Avenue as the boundaries. Clinics for this section will be held at the Community Today Centre. During the winter and early spring. each house in the city wiill be visited by lady volunteers and the times. dates and centres for each section will be announced In the advertising section of this newspaper and over the radio. the Minister added. Emphasis is being placed on the adult portion of the populatio but school children will also be in- cluded in the program. It is to be hoped that the people will attend the clinic by families.
