Mackeret Fisninc.—The catch of mackerel in Shediac harbor this season has been re- markably good. One day last week, Rev. E. A. W. Hanington, of Ottawa, and Mr. W., L. C. Hanington, accompanied by a Frenchman, ht eight hund mackerel inside of an hour and a half. A few moments after he sank his body appeared, floating on the surface, apparently «tiff and lifeless. “Mr. Fredeii:k Douse was passing at the time, and saw the body in the water. Hequickly threw ef his coat, gallantly sprang into the water— which was sbout ten feet deep—and swam ashore, carrying with him the lifeless body. The body was remoyed to Mr. Bank's resi- dence, where, after a short treatment, it showed symptoms of returning life. At two o'clock the boy had fully recovered from the effects of the almost fatal ducking, and was fit for removal to his home.
