Mr. Little- johns was born in Manchester, England, and came to this country in 1909. He took theological studies at Mount Allison University and was ordained to the ministry of ilsnformer Methodist Church in Since ordination he has held pastor-ates at Grace Church, Char- lottetown. P.E.I.. from 1914 to 1918, and was at York, P111. during the three following years. From 192i to 1025 he was pastor of St. Luke's Church in Chatham, 11.13., and then served for the following four years at Pownall. M11. He came to the Carleton church in 1929. Official figures released by the Bounty Officer showed that he had paid out 50 cent pieces to hundreds of citizens who had sent him 15.042 skunk shouts since he took over his office in 1932. A firm had the bright idea of raising skunks for their furs at New »Annan, near Summerside, but when they found the furry little animals with their potent weapon for pro- tection were not a. paying proposi- tion they opened the pens and sent Johnny the Skunk into the world. “There wore 40 ‘o! them sent free", J. D. Jenkins explained. "And from that 40 they spread all over the western section of the Island until they became a pest and the govern- ment saw the necessity of offering money for killing them off."
