Golds made the best showing. Quebec Jollet, n Junior gold issue gained 10 cents at 45 on news that Noranda had cut into the 1.200 foot level of Juliet property in northern Quebec. Senior golds were higher as Hollinger recouped yesterday's loss and Bralorne gain- ed 25 cents at $9.00. Dome Mines added l-B at 18 5-8. In the base metal group losses outnumbered gains almost two to one. Osisko was a bright spot gain- ing eight cents at 64 on news of a tie-up with Norands. Consolidated Smelters eased 1-4 st 94 1-2. Western oils edged into higher ground on gains ranging up to 15 cents. Royallte gained this amount at $6.60. The exchange’: closing index showed golds up .58 at 98.447 base metals up .02 tit 92.30 and western oils up .22 at. 43.98.
