RECEIVES SAD NEWS — Mrs. James White. 220 Queen Street re- ceived a telegram yesterday conveying the sad nevus of the sud- den death of her step-son. Mr. Nat Carr. of Hollywood. California. whose wife formerly was Miss Gertie White. daughter of the late Mr. James White of Charlotte- town. Mr. Carr was a well known playwright and comedian and was also in talking pictures. He will be kindly remembered here whore he visited with his wife on sev- eral occasions, sinccre sympathy will go out to his wife in her sad bereavement. He was 58 years old. There was no family. SANITARY OFFICERS RE- PORT - Sanitary Officer, M. W. Roardon revealed last night in his report to the City Council that he had inspected 600 private yards, 15 private stables, 8Q outside toilets. and that. in most cases conditions were satisfactory. He had collect- ed $l71.00 in dog taxes during the year. Fourteen restaurants. ll lavatories, 28 toilets. six public stables. one slaughter house. the hygienic service dump, and the bathing houses at the east end and at Victoria Park were also in- spected.
