The concert opened- .\Ir. Albert J. A piano duet by two of Tignish's most ‘accomplished pianists Miss Georgia McTague and Mrs. Brinton O'Cor- nor was then otlered and at its con- clusion the audience applauded these two ladies again to an encore. A pat- riotic song entitled “Till the boys Come Home" was then rend- ered by the chorus and _as an encore “Adcste l-`idelis" was sung with Miss Georgia l\IcTague taking the leading part. A huge treat was then enjoyed by the audience at the hands of Miss \iary Kinch who ably recited a pat- riotic sketch and as an encore one ot' a humorous nature. At this point Rev Dr. Mongahan sang an appropriate lrisli song accompanied by Miss McTague and the concert closed by a splendid song rendered by the combined chor- us. immediately' after the concert Rev. For three years and a half he was secretary of the Y. M. C. A. at the Sidney Mines, Nova Scotia, and during that time practically creat- ed the association, beginning in an abandoned otiice building with little or no equipment and ending in a fine new building, the credit for which in no little part belongs to his energy and enthusiasm. His success in this dltiicult field is indicated by the fact that since his withdrawal from there the directors have made evcry effort to have him return, . Leaving the Sidney Mines he was for six months an assistant secretary in the Boston Association and was closely identilled with the physical work. He then accepted the posi- tion of secretary in the Y. M. C. A. at Danielson, Conn., which had just been organized. He put. this association on its feet and carried on very success- fully all parts of the work. His basketball team won the championship of eastern (fonn. The ladies' work there was unusually successful. The ladies' auxiliary numbered over 100 and he conducted a gymnastic class for ladies which had a regular attend- ance of over sixty. Iiis work was proceeding very suc- cessfully at Danielson in all parts when he met with an accident in the gymnasium which compelled him fo withdraw temporarily from all Y. M. C. A. work. Letters from Danielson in- dicate the high esteem in which Mr. Clark is still held and declare that the association never recovered from its loss.wlien he was compelled to with- draw. After two years Mr. Clark was ready to enter again upon the active duties of a Y. M. C. A. secretary and was given full charge of all departments in the Franklin association. He under- stands the problems of a small associ- ation. he has an attractive personality, is enthusiastic, industrious and per- sistent. OLD YEAR MEMORIES Let us forget the things that vexed and tried us. The worrying things that caused our souls to fret; The hopes that, cherished long. were still denied us. ' Let us forget. Let us forget the little slights that pained us, The greater wrongs that rankle sometimes yet; , ' The pride with which some lofty one _ disdained us. Let us forget. Let us forget our brotha-r's fault and failing, The yielding to temptations that ha- set, That he perchance, though grief be unavailing, Cannot forget. 3 But blessings manifold, past all de- serving, Kind words and helpful deeds, a countless throng, The faults o‘crcome, the rectitude un- swerving, Let us remember long. The sacrifice of love, the generous giving Whenfnends were few. the hand- clasp warm and strong, The fragrance ot' each life of holy living. Let us remember long.
