They were confident of Victory. They were even more confident when they found that the little known Charlottetown Abbies had no more than a handful of fans to witness their first game‘ of the 1979 season. The Abbies beat UNB ho—o by scoring eight tries (touchdowns) and convering four of them. 7 ' The only questionmark about the Abbies playoff 'chances, is in their ability to win on the road. This will be tested on Saturday when the Abbies travel to Fredericton to meet the Loyalists who were the number two team last year. - _ ' ' : There are at present only three UPEI students on the Abbies roster, Bob Billings, Andy Mayer, and Toks Akpata. Sally Bennett of Perth, Australia I thought it was realty good. We don't have anything like that at home. A KLEANER’S KORNER By Ed Orlowski As the new students to UPEI, too, I amya new proby cleaner to the 3rd., and hth., Duffy(the greatest) and my first encounter with the SUN was Sept. lhth, that very blowy day, when “Frederick” fleXed his natural muscles. p v \ When I got off work, I saw scads of papers scurring, across the playing field. I managed to think to myself, “Boy, what a team. That must be the paper » panthers that I heard some students talking about,” but after doing the “Paper chase", I found out for myself, that it was not a paper panther at all. It was the “SUN”. Well, I guess I must be at least as fast as the wind, as I managed to “Paper chase", and collect enough'pieces of paper to make one' complete copy. When I got it all together I read, the heading and it read “The UPEI SUN, Issue I’?. I was so taken aback, and amazed at the beautiful job that I'm sure many a hand and heart strummed together in the making of-this “U” paper. And, if by doing the “Paper chase” is the only means I have of getting the SUN, well, it's definitely worth all theerunning and jigging ot catch on to a copy. It's a béautifiulr pulse beat of what's what; and I for one am as proud, of The SUN, as'any student.here at UPEI.: Even though _ we go inpdifferent circles, we are on the same wheel, ,7 . (and the SUN shines on all of us) so to speak. * Kim Gallant of Sherwood It was pretty good except for some of the initiators. I met a lot of people. Janet Bramm of Salisbury, N.B. I thought it was good. It was a lot of fun, but too bad more people didn't participate. It was a great way to meet everyone. r. w -‘.‘." 4.9aw . ;.x. n.5A . «-~. -‘~~ ~.~= I -4~w*_“ Va‘fl‘ ’ a; _.m'ézvfirflwh?lx=axa-..Hrwfiyl 3.
