ed him, and he was at once subject to

his ticket and board the train for
Lithia.
‘On the trip of twenty miles he was
the cynosure of all eyes, and before the
train had left the city five miles in its
rear every lady in the party had se.>ur~
ed his autograph and almost talked him
into helplessness with a running fire of
questions and comments on his achieve-
ment. He had been joined on the train
at Atlanta by his brother. Joseph Hob-
son, of this city, and the two enjoyed
as much of a family tete~a-tete as the I
curious crowd would permit. But the
climax of the oecision was reserved for
the arrival at Lithia.
A long. narrow platform runs aiong
the track at Lithia Springs, and here
had congregated the bulk of the guests
of the Sweetwater Park Hotel, one of
the mcst fashionable licslelries of the
Georgia summer resorts. Lieut Hob.
son alighted from the rear end cf his
car, while the watchers were expecting
him from the other end. As he steppeil
off the pl itform a diminutive, ili'n-
faced, eiger-manuered lady who had i
been in the centre of the group of
gueshs, ran half way to meet him, und
the next moment was folded in the arms
of the broad-breasted young man. It
