McLeod, charged* y with being an uccessoryto the 'death of Susanna Agues Geary, the victim of the “dress suit case mystery,” Louis W. Crawford and William E. Hunt testified that Dr. McLeod said he would prepare the body of the girl for disposal, and that he delivered the suit case to them after they had been made ready. ' Sarah E. Griiilths, a nurse, testified to being called to the house and asked to assist at the laparotomy operation which Dr. McLeod said was the only thing that would save Miss Gcary'e life. She agreed to assist. The operation was skilfully performed, _ she‘testided, and no cilort was lacking to save the girl. After Misa Geary had come out of the ether the nurse thought that , the operation was successful. There was h no change for the worse until the follow- ing Sunday night. Dr. McLeod by telc- phone instructed her and she followed his instructions. About daylight the follow- ing morning she noticed a change for the worse in the girl's condition, and tele- phoned Dr. M_eLeod, who came to 'the house at once.
