The keeper oi an inn is an im- portant figure in human society, and certain qualifications are necessary-lie should be a lover of his fellow-men, have an atmos- phere of friendliness about him. and carefully note what makes for the comfort and happiness o1 his guests. The inn-keeper figures largely in the Bible story of the Good Samaritan. Into his hands was com- mitted the care of the men robbed and beaten. This was one of the casualties of the rOod, so common in our modern world. He took care of him till the “certain Samaritan" came back. We talk a good deal about tourist trade. Nature has done its share, but adequate ac- commodation must be a feature of our appeal to strangers. Good roads are not enough; we must be prepared to give them good meals, and comfortable plnces to sleep,- up-to-dste hotels. Here is where the inn-keeper comes into the picture. At the Christmas season we think of the inn in Bethlehem that was crowded when Joseph and Mary arrived their. Jesus was born in a stable belonging to the inn, Whore can we find the record of a per- son horn in such lowly circum- stances? One wonders if He ever visited the place in after years. Some of us have gone back and stood on the site of the house in which we were born. Jesus had sentiment.
