R. Munch, proprietor of a drug estab- lishment in Leipsic, Saxony, publishes in the Pharmacist, a medical paper, a remedy fur diphtheria which has had surprising lie urgently presses all physicians the benefit of patients suffer- and also requests the publish it. He Says : “My little dan gh er, seven vyears of age, has had diph- theri twice within some weeks, with severe fever, about 105 #. We gave, with great success, rectified oil of turpentine (oleum terebinth noe rectificatum.) Dose, one teaspoonful inf the morning, and the same in the evening.’ Adults should take one teaspoonful. Afterwards drink a little lahow arm milk to allay the burning in the throat. For children the second dose can be mixed with milk, which will render it easier to take, The result is really marvellous. The in- flammation of the abnormal diphthertic spots in the throat grow light at the edges, and in this way they gradually shrink uo- til in twenty-four hours they disappear, leaving no sign. To quiet the injamed tonsils, the throat was gargied every two hours, and then every three hours, with the following gar- gle : One ounce of chlorate of potash to forty ounces distilled water, Phe rewedy has been used with perfect satisfaction botn by adults and children, not one ease ending fatally. The Mil- waukee Volksblatt quoted this remedy from a German paper, and aftorWards received a let‘er from @ subscriber in Mitchell county, lowa, saying that a child in the writer's family was attacked by diphtheria, treated by local physicians, and died; then four members of the same family were attacked, | SUCCESS i f 1 to ry it ior Saas irom the Gjsease, pre 88 tO wdvys di treated by this remedy, and, 1 om happy to tall you, ol) reddvered, EXAMINER, . ae ee a UES!
