Sept. 30.—lBritish Unit- ed Pressl-Enough arsenic to kill many thousands of people has been found in sweets made at a Burtlom. Stroke-on-‘Irent. Stafiordshire, fac- tory. The Ministry of Health and the local medicol officer of health have closed and sealed the factory and traced all recent supplies of sweet-s sent out. A white "dusting powder" used to coat the sweets to prevent them from sticking together is be- lieved to have contained arsenic. ‘The poisoned sweets were first discovered by Dr. n. B.
