The dredge is now operating at Wood Island and this equipment is being taken there from Chatham, NB. En route one of the pontoons sprung a leak and was in a sinking condition, being held afloat only by the tow rope. As it vras slowing down the speed of the tug they came into Sum- merside for repairs. Each pontoon carried two sections of discharge pipe. When the dredge is in op- eration pipe ls laid from it to the place that the sand is being dis- charged.
