The trip will involve an absence of three days, being Thursday to Saturday, 17th to 19th October inclusive. It so happens that many of the men in the l corps above indicated are in the employ of sirous to take part in the parade on this memorable occasion. They have already won honors for their native Island, and we feel sure that when they parade with the men from the sister Provinces at Halifax we shall have further occasion to feel proud of them. 4 inistruelhat miiitm arm, the com- petition a.t Quebec and the tournament at Halifax have already taken the men away from their ordinary callings durinir the past season, and this new call may be felt by employers as somewhat of a tax upon their patience. None the less we feel that it is desirable that our Island soldiers should be represented in the best manner possible at' the Halifax Review. The occasion is an extraordinary one, such as may not occur again in a generation. We may feel justly proud of what our Artillery-men have achieved in the com- petitions and the degree of ediciency they have attained which places them fore- most in Canada in this arm of the service. We therefore trust that our merchants and other employers will telic the most liberal view ofthe circumstances of thel case in order that every possible man of y the companies ordered to Halifax may be V in attendance at the Royal Review. ~ Mr. Douelas Storey, an American cor_ respondentw ho is making the tri p through Canada with the Royal party, writes as follows from Ottawa to the Boston Herald: “Wherever he has gone the Duke has impressed the people with his shrewd common sense, with his knowledge of affairs, and with the strength of his personality.
