Since rabbits do this kind of work from thc surface of the snow and since there may_ sometimes be con- siderable snow that may enable them to reach above the paper, and| still further since it is impractic- able to wrap up n. whole tree for protection against rabbits probably the best means is to destroy the rabbits. They can be very easily trapped‘ or may be shot or still! further may be poisoned. which ‘latter method is not recommended ‘owing to the danger of poisoncdl food material being eaten by other domestic animals.
